Penrhyn Mawr self catering holiday flats are
situated in the Pembrokeshire National Park in a quiet
location on Cemaes Head over-looking Poppit Sands, Cardigan,
West Wales U.K. The flats enjoy a panoramic view of the River Teify estuary,
Cardigan Island and the Irish Sea. 
We
are 2¼ miles from the village of St.
Dogmaels. During the day you may see buzzards and choughs on the headland
and dolphins or seals in the bay. The Teify estuary is abundant with many different
species of birds. Around the flats, badgers are frequently seen at night as
well as foxes and various owls. In the surrounding fields there are often cows,
pigs, horses and sheep. Just up river, at the Cardigan Wildlife Park, wild otters
may sometimes be seen in their natural environment.
is a gently sloping beach bordered by a river estuary on one side and a rocky cove on the other. There is a marked swimming area with Lifeguards on duty during the Summer months and the Cardigan Lifeboat station is conveniently situated at the edge of the beach.
We have four flats, two situated on the first floor and two on ground level. Each has a lounge/dining room with TV, a well-equipped kitchen, a bathroom, a double bedroom and a second bedroom with two 2'6" beds except flat 2 (one of the downstairs flats) which has bunk beds in the smaller bedroom with a 2'6" upper and 4' lower bunk: Quite large for bunks! Both the main bedrooms and the lounges in each flat have stunning sea views. We can also provide one extra camp bed per flat (for child only). Larger family groups are not a problem. Each flat has night storage heaters in the lounge. There are also electric heaters in other rooms. Electricity is supplied by way of a £1 coin meter. There is also a payphone on site but most mobiles work here anyway.
All bedding is provided (duvets) except cot bedding.
Penrhyn Mawr Holiday Flats are set in approximately 20 acres of land, fields and unspoilt woodland which is a registered site of special scientific interest. We sometimes have goats or sheep and from time to time we have horses in our fields. We also have ducks and chickens that are free to wander for most of the day and appreciate being fed extra treats by holiday guests. Unfortunately, in early Spring, we have to restrict their wanderings as the local foxes can get active in the day when they have their young to feed.
Surrounding the Holiday Flats there is a large grassy lawn area. There is also a car parking area adjacent to the building.
